Grizl (Adventure/Bikepacking)
Algupära
Canyon launched the Grizl in 2021 as the rugged, adventure-oriented sibling to its race-focused Grail gravel bike. Where the Grail chased speed and its polarising double-decker cockpit, the Grizl was built for loaded touring, bikepacking and rough terrain: fatter tyre clearance, more mounts, a more relaxed fit and a comfort-tuned VCLS flex seatpost. As a German direct-to-consumer brand, Canyon priced the Grizl aggressively, undercutting comparably specced bikes from traditional shop brands and quickly making it one of the best-value adventure gravel bikes on the market. For 2025-2026 Canyon fully redesigned the platform around the tagline 'OG - Original Graveller', slackening the geometry, opening clearance to 54mm (a 29x2.1in MTB tyre), adding internal down-tube storage and a UDH hanger, and simplifying to 1x drivetrains. In 2026 an all-new aluminium Grizl AL brought that adventure recipe down to a ~€1,299 starting price, and a Bosch-powered Grizl:ON extended the family into e-gravel.

Verdikt
- Exceptional value - full-carbon GRX builds at direct-to-consumer prices well under shop-brand rivals
- Genuinely capable adventure geometry with big tyre clearance (up to 54mm) and abundant bikepacking mounts
- Comfortable, composed and stable when loaded, with all-season Schwalbe G-One RX tyres that grip in the wet
- 2025+ generation is 1x-only - no 2x option for riders who want tighter road gearing
- Press-fit bottom bracket on the older carbon generation (creak-prone; newer AL frame moved to threaded T47)
- Direct-to-consumer model means self-assembly and no local shop fitting/service in the Baltics
