Algupära

The OMP designation marks the fifth generation of Orbea's Ordu lineage, unveiled at Challenge Roth with co-developer Andrew Starykowicz. Orbea redesigned the tube shapes using "Mondragon" profiling — a nod to the Mondragón Cooperative Corporation of which Orbea is a member — optimised for aerodynamic efficiency across a wide range of wind angles rather than just zero-yaw tunnel conditions. The result is faster in real-world riding conditions and UCI road-legal, making it equally at home in TdF time trials (Cofidis used it) and Ironman events.

Verdikt

+Tugevused
  • Mondragon tube shaping outperforms zero-yaw-optimised designs in real riding conditions
  • Dual UCI/triathlon legality gives unmatched versatility for competitive athletes
  • Co-developer Starykowicz validates the design for true long-distance triathlon performance
Nõrkused
  • As a specialist triathlon frame, comfort on casual road rides is secondary
  • High-end builds command significant cost (€7,000–11,000+ range)
  • Aero integration limits fit flexibility compared to conventional road frames
