„Kona“ 1988 m. Vankuveryje (Britų Kolumbija) įkūrė Danas Gerhardas ir Jacobas Heilbronas, bendradarbiaudami su dviratininku Joe Murray'u kurdami plieninius hardtail'us. „Process“ linija išsivystė kaip jų pilnos pakabos takų platforma. 134 modelis yra „protingasis Process“ – trumpaeigis nusileidimo dviratis, kuris pranoksta savo eigą. 2025 m. G3 atnaujinimas išlaikė svirtinį vieno šarnyro mechanizmą, tačiau atnaujino geometriją (480 mm siekis L dydžiui, 435 mm grandinės atramos visiems dydžiams).

- Carbon CR/DL build is pricey ($5,499) for a 134mm trail bike; you pay for the chassis more than flash parts
- Base alloy build's 10-speed Microshift drivetrain and Recon fork are budget-tier and the first things owners tend to upgrade
