Izcelsme

The B-Cross launched Atala's modern e-MTB program in 2018, initially with the proprietary AM80 mid-motor, and later extending into Bosch Performance CX territory for higher trims. The naming scheme (A2.2, A3.1, A4.2…) encodes motor/battery tier, letting dealers build a clear step-up ladder. By integrating the battery into the downtube — rather than mounting it externally — Atala kept the silhouette close to a conventional MTB, which mattered for riders crossing over from analogue bikes.

Verdikts

+Stiprās puses
  • Atala AM80 motor delivers a natural-feeling 80 Nm of assistance — smooth power curve without sudden surge
  • Frame-integrated EnergyPack battery keeps the silhouette clean and protects cells from trail impacts
  • Shimano BR-MT200 hydraulic disc brakes give strong, consistent modulation at a price that justifies the e-bike premium
Vājās puses
  • Entry A2.2 at 24.5 kg is heavy even by e-MTB standards, making technical trail manoeuvring more demanding
  • AM80 motor is Atala-proprietary — servicing and firmware updates depend on Atala/Accell network availability
  • Suntour XCM 100 mm coil fork on entry builds is outpaced by the motor-assisted trail speed the B-Cross enables
