Izcelsme

Peugeot announced the eM02 PowerTube in 2018 and brought it to market in 2019, positioning it as the French answer to the Bosch eMTB boom. The headline feature was the Bosch 500 Wh PowerTube battery slotted directly into the down tube — at the time still a premium differentiator. The range ran from an accessible alloy hardtail with Deore components through a full-suspension XT11 rig capable of serious trail riding, letting Peugeot cover the whole mid-range eMTB market with a single platform.

Verdikts

+Stiprās puses
  • Bosch Performance CX 75 Nm motor is powerful and well-mapped for trail riding — confident climbing without sudden surge
  • In-frame PowerTube battery preserves natural bike proportions and protects the battery from impacts
  • Wide build ladder (Deore hardtail to XT FS) means the platform suits a broad range of budgets and riding styles
Vājās puses
  • At 22+ kg even the entry hardtail is heavy by modern eMTB standards; FS builds push toward 25 kg
  • Suntour forks on mid-range builds don't match the RockShox option's stiffness and adjustability
  • Range of 125 km is a best-case manufacturer figure; real-world trail riding typically yields 60–80 km
