Izcelsme

Checkpoint ir Trek velosipēdu platforma, kas veltīta grants un bikepacking braucieniem, izlaista 2018. gadā un tagad ir trešajā paaudzē (2024). Tas ir pieejams trīs rāmju līmeņos: ALR izmanto 300 Series Alpha Aluminium un sākas no aptuveni €1,499, SL izmanto OCLV 500 Series oglekli, bet sacensībām orientētais SLR izmanto Trek premium OCLV 800/900 Series oglekli. Gen 3 paplašināja riepu klīrensu līdz 50mm abos galos, atslābināja ģeometriju, lai nodrošinātu lielāku komfortu garākos braucienos, un pievienoja vairāk kravas stiprinājumu uz dakšas kājām un augšējās caurules. Oglekļa Checkpoint SL un SLR rāmji ietver IsoSpeed — Trek atdalīto sēdekļa caurules tehnoloģiju, kas ļauj augšējai caurulei vertikāli locīties, nodrošinot komfortu garos un nelīdzenos braucienos — kā arī integrētu rāmja glabāšanu zem apakšējās caurules vāka. Checkpoint ir saderīgs ar nolaižamo sēdekļa stieni un īsa gājiena grants balstiekārtas dakšu. Pārvadi svārstās no Shimano GRX mehāniskā sākuma līmenī līdz SRAM RED XPLR AXS 1x12 bezvadu augšējā līmenī, kur SLR 9 AXS maksā aptuveni €12,999. Rāmis: Trek officially labels ALR aluminum as '300 Series Alpha Aluminum' on Checkpoint Gen 3 (verified 2026-05-18 via trekbikes.com + 99spokes). SLR tier (800 Series OCLV) removed from Checkpoint in Gen 3 — race role moved to Checkmate SLR.

ALR 5 Gen 3 (€1,999) is best value — aluminum with GRX hydraulic brakes. BikeRadar 4.5/5.

IsoSpeed comfort only on carbon SL models. ALR aluminum does not have IsoSpeed.

Gen 3 SL uses T47 threaded BB — reduces creak issues that plagued earlier press-fit models.

For gravel racing, consider Checkmate SLR instead. Gen 3 Checkpoint is adventure/endurance focused.

If buying used Gen 1, check Stranglehold dropout for creak — known issue. Gen 2+ uses fixed UDH.
