„Epic 8“ yra aštuntoji „Specialized“ flagmano XC lenktyninio dviračio karta, pristatyta 2023 m. pabaigoje 2024 modelio metams ir tęsiama iki 2026 m. „Epic“ linija dominavo kroso lenktynėse nuo 2002 m., kai „Specialized“ pristatė „Brain“ inercinio vožtuvo amortizatorių, kuris atskyrė pedalavimo jėgas nuo smūgių. Daugiau nei šimtas pasaulio taurės pergalių, „Cape Epic“ pergalės ir olimpinis auksas įtvirtino šią platformą kaip sėkmingiausią XC dviratį sporto istorijoje. „Epic 8“ yra reikšmingas išleidimas, nes jis visiškai atsisako „Brain“ – pakeičiamas įprastu „RockShox SIDLuxe“ amortizatoriumi – ir padidina galinę eigą nuo 100 mm („Epic 7“) iki 120 mm, su 120 mm „SID“ šakute priekyje. „S-Works“ gauna „RockShox Flight Attendant“ elektroninę pakabą su integruotu galios matuokliu – tai pirmas kartas XC.

- 435 mm chainstays are constant across all four sizes, so front/rear balance shifts on larger frames (XL riders feel it most)
- Rounded XC tires (Fast Trak/Renegade) make handling feel twitchy in some situations and limit grip in loose/wet conditions
- Most bob-prone of its class in fully Open mode — noticeable shock movement during seated efforts on smooth ground; the digressive tune can feel odd when bouncing the saddle in the car park
- Stiffer, more reactive chassis demands more rider skill and effort to manage than the previous Epic; S-Works Flight Antendant battery charging must be kept on top of
