Izcelsme
Ultimate AL bija Canyon oriģinālais šosejas sacensību velosipēds un modelis, kas nostādīja zīmolu Eiropas riteņbraukšanas kartē pēc tam, kad Romāna Arnolda uzņēmums 2002. gadā pārdēvējās no Radsport Arnold par Canyon. Sākotnēji būvēts no 7005 alumīnija un vēlāk no hidroformēta 6066, tas ar Canyon sacensību ģeometriju nonāca amatieru Bundeslīgas braucēju, sub-elites komandu un galu galā arī patērētāju rokās visā ES, pateicoties tiešās pārdošanas modelim, kas bija vairākus simtus eiro lētāks nekā konkurentiem. Platforma attīstījās vairākās paaudzēs līdzās oglekļa Ultimate CF, un AL līnija parasti kalpoja kā ieejas punkts par €999-€1,799. Canyon klusi pārtrauca Ultimate AL ap 2019.-2020. gadu, kad zīmols sacensību līmeni konsolidēja tikai ap oglekli (CF, CF SLX, CFR), virzot alumīnija pircējus uz Endurace AL izturības platformu. Lietoti eksemplāri joprojām ir izplatīti Baltijas otrreizējā tirgū kā iesācēju sacensību velosipēdi.

- VCLS flex seatpost adds genuine rear-end comfort without softening the frame, taking the edge off long rides
- Proven, serviceable platform with widely available standard parts — easy to live with on the used market
- Narrow 23c stock tyres are puncture-prone and limit comfort/grip versus modern 28-32c road setups
- Tall stock gearing (53/39 x 11-25) punishes weaker climbers on steep terrain
- Aggressive, low race position is unforgiving for less flexible or endurance-minded riders — not an all-day comfort bike
- Aluminium ride is direct and a touch harsh over rough surfaces compared with carbon, despite the flex post
- Discontinued — no new stock, no full warranty, limited spares, and direct-to-consumer sizing risk on the used market
