The verdict

+Strengths
  • Geometry praised as 'spot on' — comfortable for long distances on road and gravel without feeling sluggish
  • Carbon frame models (Elite, RD Elite) offer excellent ride quality despite being fully equipped touring bikes
  • Extensive mounting points on frame and fork — genuinely versatile for bikepacking and commuting
  • RD variants with dynamo lighting are rare in the gravel segment — ideal for all-weather/all-season riders
  • Good value across the range — well-specced for price, especially mid-tier AL models
  • MY2026 Stashbox on flagship is a clever integrated storage solution
  • 50mm tyre clearance (MY2026) is class-competitive
Weaknesses
  • Not light — RD Elite fully equipped is 13kg+; carbon non-RD variants at 10.3kg also not featherweight
  • Earlier generations lacked truly progressive geometry — 71.5° HTA on smaller sizes is conservative
  • Front mudguard on some RD variants needs a mudflap (road.cc noted)
  • Battery in e-variants (360Wh) is non-removable — problematic for apartment dwellers without ground-floor access
  • Top-spec competitors offer Ultegra-level groupsets at similar price points
  • Tyre clearance on older models was limiting (~40mm) compared to newer gravel bikes
