Infinito
Origin
The Bianchi Infinito launched around 2010 as the endurance/comfort pillar of Bianchi's road range, built for gran fondos and long days in the saddle. The 2013 Infinito CV spun off the Countervail vibration-cancelling layup into its own race-bred line, leaving 'Infinito' as the more attainable endurance model. For 2026 Bianchi completely redesigned the base Infinito into an all-road bike 'without limits': a new integrated carbon frame and fork, a 20%-lighter evolution of Countervail, down-tube internal storage, a zero-offset Countervail seatpost, and tire clearance jumped from 32mm to 40mm to make it genuinely gravel-capable. Build tiers run from a sub-€3,000 Shimano 105 Di2 standard model up to a 200-unit Paris-Roubaix Limited Edition. The result keeps the celeste endurance heritage while repositioning the Infinito as a do-everything road/light-gravel machine.
Specifications
- Frame
- Full carbon endurance/all-road frame (fully redesigned for 2026) with updated Countervail vibration-cancelling viscoelastic carbon layup (20% lighter than previous generation). Integrated frame+fork system claims a 12-watt aero gain over the prior model; embedded down-tube storage compartment for tools/CO2/wind jacket. 7 sizes (47–61).
- Weight
- kg
- Drivetrain
- 12-speed builds across tiers: Standard = Shimano 105 Di2 or mechanical 105; Pro = SRAM Force/Rival AXS or Shimano Ultegra/105 Di2; Launch/Paris-Roubaix Limited = Shimano Ultegra Di2 (4iiii power meter) or SRAM Force XPLR 1×13 AXS (gravel build).
- Brakes
- Hydraulic flat-mount disc brakes; standard builds use Shimano 105 hydraulic with Shimano RT54 160mm rotors.
- Wheels
- Build-dependent 700c: Pro/Launch get Bianchi RC 49R carbon (49mm profile, 25mm internal width, straight-pull Superwing spokes, hidden alloy nipples); Standard gets Bianchi B 49R alloy (J-bend spokes). Rated to ASTM 2 (light gravel) durability.
The verdict
- Hugely versatile 2026 redesign — 40mm tire clearance turns an endurance road bike into a credible light-gravel/all-road machine
- Updated Countervail carbon plus a flexing zero-offset seatpost deliver long-distance comfort and vibration damping
- Practical touches rare on a road bike: hidden down-tube storage for tools, CO2 and a wind jacket
- Claimed 12-watt aero gain from the integrated frame+fork while staying endurance-relaxed
- Broad, accessible build range from sub-€3,000 105 Di2 up to a Paris-Roubaix Limited Edition; iconic Bianchi celeste heritage
- More relaxed, upright geometry (higher stack, shorter reach, longer 422mm chainstays) trades away the racier handling of the old Infinito CV
- Bianchi does not publish a complete-bike weight; the all-road frame and storage hardware likely add grams versus a pure climbing/race bike
- Premium pricing — flagship builds reach ~€7,790–7,990, and 'gravel-ready' clearance still falls short of a dedicated gravel bike on rougher terrain
- Heavy front-end integration and internal routing complicate fit adjustments and home maintenance
- As an all-rounder it is a jack-of-all-trades: not as fast as an aero/race bike nor as capable as a true gravel rig at the extremes
