Kids Trail
Origin
Trail — straightforward category name. The kids' Trail line is the kid-scaled extension of Cannondale's adult Trail entry-level MTB family (Trail 1-8). Cannondale uses functional category names: Trail (entry MTB), Habit (full-suspension trail), Scalpel (XC race full-sus), Bad Boy (urban). Kids' bikes carry the parent line name + wheel size: 'Trail 16', 'Trail 20', etc. ~2010-2015 Cannondale doesn't publicise the exact debut year of the kids' Trail. The current 16/20/24/26 wheel-size split is well established by ~2015 in retailer catalogues. The adult Trail family runs back to the late 2000s. Kid-scaled hardtail MTB — proper bike, not toy. Designed to give kids real trail capability (suspension fork, gears, real brakes) at proportional sizes. medium aggregated
