Scalpel
mtb
01
Origin
The Scalpel has long been Cannondale's XC weapon, and the 2021 generation reinvented how its suspension works. Rather than bearings at the lower pivot, FlexPivot uses precisely engineered carbon flex zones — the rear end bends exactly where a Horst link would pivot. The result is a true four-bar feel at race weight, with a frame that tips the scales around 1910 g with shock. Paired with 120 mm of travel and modern, slacker XC geometry, the Scalpel blurs the line between pure race bike and short-travel trail rocket.
