Speedmax CFR
Origin
Canyon is a German direct-to-consumer bike brand from Koblenz, and the Speedmax is its long-running triathlon/time-trial halo project. The lineage that made the name came with the Speedmax CF SLX era from 2015 onward, when Jan Frodeno rode it to Ironman world titles in 2015 and 2016 and later set the iron-distance record aboard it, with Patrick Lange adding further Kona wins. In 2021 Canyon overhauled the platform around disc brakes, an all-new mono-riser adjustable aero cockpit and deep integration of hydration and storage, and crowned the range with the CFR (Canyon Factory Racing) tier — the lightest, most exotic carbon layup using rare Toray M40X fibres. The CFR name became Canyon's cross-range flagship badge, and the Speedmax CFR sits alongside a UCI-legal Speedmax CFR TT variant and, from 2023, the €20,000 Speedmax CFR Track pursuit bike developed with Chloe Dygert — all sharing the same aero DNA.
