Origin

Canyon introduced the Roadlite as its flat-bar fitness platform around the mid-2010s, sitting in the gap between a hybrid commuter and a drop-bar endurance road bike. The brief was simple: take the geometry honesty of a road bike, swap in a flat handlebar and slightly taller stack, fit 32-35mm tyres, and sell it consumer-direct at a price that punishes traditional retail. The Roadlite is built around an aluminium frame with hydroformed tubes and routed cables, with a carbon fork on most trims and a full carbon main triangle on the CF 9. The lineup is a fitness/urban tool, not a do-everything trekking bike — no rack mounts on lower specs, no suspension, no upright bar-end posture. It rewards riders who want road-bike speed without dropping into the bars, and it became one of the more popular European fitness commuters because it actually rides like a road bike on the flat sections of a city commute.
