Origin
The Strive:ON is Canyon's dedicated e-Enduro platform, sitting above the Spectral:ON in the e-MTB hierarchy. Where the Spectral:ON is a trail-do-it-all, the Strive:ON is built for racing: 170 mm fork, 160 mm rear travel, mullet wheels, slack head angle, and a Bosch Performance Line CX motor (85 Nm) on standard builds or the Performance Line CX Race motor (with the eMTB Pro mode and 750 W peak power) on the CFR Underdog race-spec build. It carries the K.I.S. (Keep It Stable) steering stabiliser from the analog Strive, frame protection inspired by motocross enduro design, and Bosch's 800 Wh PowerTube battery for full race-day range. The current 2026 generation refines the kinematics for the new Bosch CX Race motor. Strive:ON has been ridden to multiple e-Enduro World Series wins by Canyon's CLLCTV racing team. It's a niche product — not for casual trail riders, but for riders who want pedal-assisted shuttle laps and the steepest, gnarliest terrain a non-DH bike can handle.

If buying new in 2026: Gen 2 (€4,999 entry) is materially better than Gen 1 — Bosch CX Gen 5 has 41% more torque, K.I.S. 2.0 is a real ride-feel improvement, and through-frame routing eliminates the Gen 1 service-complexity complaint. Only buy Gen 1 clearance if Gen 2 is unavailable in your market (US).

If you own Gen 1 (Bosch CX Gen 4): check Bosch eBike Flow app for the free firmware update to Gen 5 performance (120Nm). Update path depends on motor unit serial — see Bosch service dealer to confirm eligibility. Don't pay for a new bike just for the motor upgrade if your frame is fine.

CFR Underdog ($6,499) is the value pick on Gen 1 clearance — same CFR carbon frame, same Bosch CX 750Wh, just budget components (Shimano Deore + SRAM DB8 brakes + DT Swiss alloy wheels). Upgrade brakes and wheels over time. Stealth black finish is striking.

CFR LTD ($7,499 Gen 1) gets the Bosch CX Race motor with 400% assist — only worth it if you actually race EDR-E or do all-day big-mountain climbs where the higher assist matters. For most riders, standard CFR (340% assist) delivers identical descending and 95% of climbing.

Mullet-only — Strive:ON is not available in 29" full setup. If you strongly prefer 29" rear, consider Specialized Kenevo SL, Trek Rail, or Santa Cruz Bullit instead.

Canyon Direct only — no Baltic dealer. Plan ahead: shipping to Tallinn/Riga/Vilnius is straightforward, but warranty service requires shipping back to Koblenz. Canyon offers 6-year frame warranty + 30-day return.

Gen 1 used market: Strive:ON CFR 2024 should hit secondary market hard in mid-2026 as Gen 2 ships. Look for €3,800-€5,200 used range; check battery cycle count (Bosch eBike Flow app shows charge cycles) and ask seller to demonstrate Bosch CX serial in app before paying.

Bosch CX motor rattle on rough descents is a known platform characteristic, not a defect — both NSMB and BikeRadar noted it. If silent motors matter to you, look at Spectral:ONfly (TQ HPR50, silent) instead — but you give up 35-50Nm of torque.
