Origin
The S3 is the accessible member of Cervelo's aero road family, sitting below the flagship S5. It applies the brand's True Aero tube-shape library — the same aerodynamic philosophy that shaped WorldTour sprint stages — to a complete bike that most club racers can afford. The disc brake iteration, launched around 2017–2018, shed 102 g of aerodynamic drag versus its predecessor and introduced hydraulic stopping power without compromising the aero silhouette.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Measurable aero advantage over a standard round-tube road bike — 13 W saving is real and rider-perceptible at race pace
- BBright BB delivers outstanding pedalling stiffness with minimal power loss through the drivetrain
- Very competitive price-to-performance ratio within the aero road category
−Weaknesses
- Narrow 25 mm tire spec and DT Swiss P1800 wheels are entry-level for a premium-priced aero bike
- Comfort is secondary — stiff aero tubes transmit more road chatter than the R-series on rough tarmac
- BBright requires a proprietary crankset or adapter — limits future drivetrain upgrade options
