Origin
De Rosa introduced titanium road bikes in the early 1990s, and the Anima (Italian for "soul") represents the modern culmination of that tradition. Launched around 2019, it is the brand's definitive titanium road platform: compact geometry borrowed from its race frames, a carbon fork for precision steering, and De Rosa's Black Label tailor-made process that allows each frame to be built to individual rider geometry.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Grade 9 triple-butted titanium delivers a uniquely smooth, fatigue-reducing ride character over long days
- T47 BB eliminates creak risk common with press-fit metal frames; 32 mm clearance adds versatility
- Black Label tailor-made process allows geometry customisation unavailable on mass-produced carbon frames
−Weaknesses
- At ~1,500 g the titanium frame is heavier than the carbon Merak or 70 — physics cannot be fully overcome
- Premium price point for frameset alone; complete builds with top groupsets exceed most carbon competitors
- Raw titanium finish is not for everyone aesthetically — limited painted colour options
