Rider
Origin
Fluid Free Ride (fluidfreeride.com) is a Miami, Florida based electric-scooter retailer and importer founded in the mid-2010s, best known in enthusiast circles for the Mosquito, Horizon and rebadged Kaabo Mantis 'Fluid Edition' performance models. The CityRider sits at the entry end of that lineup: a lightweight, skateboard-styled commuter aimed at riders who want a genuinely portable scooter for short hops rather than long-range performance. It launched around 2020 at roughly $599 with a 300W motor and a small 7.5Ah battery, then received a mid-life update to a 350W motor and a larger 36V 10Ah (360Wh) battery, roughly doubling usable range while keeping the sub-14 kg weight and wooden-deck character that defines it.

The verdict
- Genuinely light and portable (~13-14 kg), easy to carry up stairs or onto transit
- Strong range-to-weight efficiency and low maintenance (solid tires, no punctures)
- Commuter extras rare at the price: turn signals, LED lights, cruise control, app
- No suspension + solid tires = rough ride on cobbles and uneven Baltic streets
- Weak hill climbing and slow acceleration (only 300-350W)
- Modest range and top speed; not for longer commutes or fast riders
Generations
2020 original
- First version. Small battery limited range; launched ~$599.
2022+ update
