Origin
The Orange is Gazelle's definitive everyday Dutch city bike — unchanged in spirit since the company began making commuter bikes in Dieren in 1892. The hydro-formed aluminium frame is stiff, quiet, and light; the Nexus 7-speed hub sealed in its housing needs virtually no maintenance; roller brakes work equally well in rain or shine. Everything is integrated: dynamo lights wired in, rear carrier bolted on, lock built into the frame.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Shimano Nexus 7 IGH + roller brakes are the most reliable drivetrain-brake combination available for wet-climate commuting
- Upright geometry and sprung saddle make multi-hour city rides comfortable without padded shorts
- Factory-included lights, rack, lock and fenders mean nothing needs to be bought or fitted before first ride
−Weaknesses
- No assist — hills and headwinds are purely your problem; e-bike alternatives exist at higher price
- Roller brakes have a characteristic "wooden" feel compared to hydraulic disc — powerful but not precise
- 21 kg is moderate weight for a non-electric city bike; lighter aluminium alternatives exist
