Origin

The Nirvana Tour has been Ghost's versatile touring hardtail since around 2016 — designed to be the one bike that handles a commute on Monday, a trail ride on the weekend, and a loaded touring trip in between. The aluminium frame, 120 mm fork, and 29" wheels place it firmly in the trekking-meets-trail category. The lineup includes the base Nirvana Tour, the sportier SF (SpaceFrame-inspired), and the SF Universal with a step-through-friendly geometry for easy mounting.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • 120 mm air fork gives genuine trail capability that standard trekking bikes lack
  • Wide component range from Essential (budget-friendly) to SF Universal (Shimano XT quality)
  • Balanced geometry works for loaded touring and unloaded singletrack alike
Weaknesses
  • Entry Essential builds use Tektro brakes and budget hubs — adequate but not inspiring
  • Heavier than a dedicated XC hardtail due to trekking-oriented frame weight
  • SR Suntour air forks require regular service intervals that some touring riders overlook
