The verdict

+Strengths
  • Shimano EP801 + 630Wh battery pairing delivers strong power and long range for enduro riding
  • RockShox Yari fork with E-MTB rating is correctly spec'd for the extra weight and forces of e-bike riding
  • Maxxis Minion tires (DHF/DHR II combo) are among the best all-condition enduro tire choices available
Weaknesses
  • Slate T4 brakes are below the quality level expected on a full 150mm-travel e-MTB at this price
  • Alloy frame adds significant weight -- the eForce Amp+ is notably heavier than carbon e-MTB competitors
  • SRAM SX Eagle drivetrain feels slightly underpowered for the torque output of the EP801 motor under hard acceleration
