Origin

The Crosshill is Lapierre's all-round gravel bike, designed to cover distance on mixed surfaces. The original endurance aluminium frame was joined by the Crosshill CF, a full-UD-carbon model built from standard-modulus fibres for a more elastic, responsive ride and distinguished by an unconventional seat cluster whose seatstays bend and curve around the seat tube to add comfort. Practical to the core, it carries two bottles plus a top-tube bag and switches between 1x and 2x setups via a removable front-derailleur mount.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Comfort-tuned frame (elastic carbon, compliant seat cluster) for long days
  • Versatile 1x/2x compatibility and generous bottle/bag mounts
  • Wide gearing options and up to 44c tire clearance
Weaknesses
  • Entry aluminium/Sora builds are heavier and basic
  • Comfort focus makes it less aggressive than a race gravel bike
  • Standard-modulus carbon prioritises comfort over outright stiffness
