Origin
The Presidio has been Marin's dedicated urban commuter since 2016, designed from the ground up for the daily commute rather than adapted from a trail or gravel platform. It offers rack and fender mounts, reliable hydraulic disc brakes, and a range from basic derailleur to belt-drive Nexus IGH -- scaling from pragmatic budget commuter to maintenance-minimal premium daily driver.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Hydraulic disc brakes standard on all builds -- rare and genuinely useful in wet commuting
- Gates Carbon Drive on Presidio 3 is as low-maintenance as city cycling gets
- Generous rack, fender, and kickstand mounts cover all commuter base needs
−Weaknesses
- Limited sportiness -- the Presidio is a commuter, not a sporty hybrid
- Entry CrMo fork on Presidio 1 adds weight compared to alloy alternatives
- Premium belt-drive Presidio 3 carries a significant price premium over derailleur builds
