Origin

The Rallon entered Orbea's lineup in 2015 as a trail bike and gradually evolved into a full enduro weapon. The 2024 generation was the most radical reinvention: longer, lower, and slacker, with 170 mm of rear travel (up from 167 mm), a 4-way flip-chip for geometry tuning, and a hidden multi-tool stashed in the rocker link pivot. The OMR carbon frame kept weight competitive while the 29/mullet compatibility via shock extenders let riders choose their setup without swapping frames.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • 4-way flip-chip lets riders dial in geometry for different tracks and preferences
  • Mullet and 29-inch compatibility from one frame with shock extenders
  • Hidden multi-tool in rocker link is genuinely useful on trail
Weaknesses
  • OMR carbon (not top-tier OMX) means slight weight penalty vs premium competitors
  • Highly race-tuned geometry is less forgiving for casual riders
  • Mullet swap requires workshop time, not trailside adjustment
