Origin

Peugeot's eT01 launched in 2018 and received a major Crossover update in 2020 — six new builds were unveiled in July 2020 that brought the full-suspension FS chassis, a spectrum of Bosch motor/battery pairings, and trekking-specific accessories (fenders, rack) as standard. The platform was designed to bridge the gap between urban e-commuting and light off-road adventure touring, something French cyclists call VTC (vélo tout chemin) — “bike for all paths.”

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Bosch Performance Line 63 Nm (sport builds) provides confident assistance on loaded touring climbs
  • Full-suspension FS variant genuinely absorbs trail vibration that hardens most trekking bikes
  • Well-equipped from the box (fenders, rack, Intuvia display) reduces total cost of ownership
Weaknesses
  • At 25+ kg the FS builds are heavy to lift or carry, limiting use in multi-modal commuting
  • Suntour MOBIE 40 mm fork feels limited for actual trail riding despite the full-suspension frame
  • Entry 400 Wh / Active Line combination gives a conservative real-world range of ~50–70 km with hills
