Origin
Polygon launched the Path E series to bring e-bike commuting to Southeast Asia and export markets at an accessible price. The E5 uses Shimano STEPS E5000, a reliable and quiet mid-drive designed for comfort-focused city riders rather than maximum performance. The full carbon fork is a notable inclusion on a city e-bike, reducing the vibration that is especially noticeable at e-bike speeds on urban roads.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Shimano STEPS E5000 is a proven, quiet mid-drive system well-supported by global Shimano dealers
- Full carbon fork absorbs road vibration better than alloy alternatives common at this price
- Shimano MT201 hydraulic brakes provide reliable stopping power at loaded e-bike weights
−Weaknesses
- Weight at approx. 19.9 kg is on the heavy side for city e-bikes, comparable to bikes with larger batteries
- Shimano E5000 40Nm torque is notably lower than current mid-drives (Bosch Performance CX: 85Nm), limiting steep-hill punch
- SC-E7000 display is functional but smaller and less intuitive than modern color displays from Bosch or Fazua
