Origin

The Pure Air Pro is the mid-tier sibling of the Pure Air, designed for commuters who want a noticeably bigger battery (and roughly double the range) without stepping up to dual-motor or premium-priced territory. The lineage runs Pure Air Pro (2020) → Pro 2 (2021) → Pro LR (Long Range, 2022) → Pro 3 (2023) → Pro 4 (2024) → Pro 5 (2025). Each generation has progressively increased battery capacity and peak motor output while maintaining the same fundamental form factor and IP65 water resistance. The Pro is the most popular Pure model among riders who use the scooter as a primary commute vehicle rather than an occasional toy. Designed in Bristol, manufactured in Asia, sold through Halfords, Currys, Argos, and Pure's own stores.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • IP65 water resistance — one of the few e-scooters genuinely rated for wet UK/Baltic climates and the feature that originally made the Pure line famous.
  • 10-inch pneumatic tyres pre-filled with puncture-prevention fluid give a notably smooth ride for a suspension-less scooter.
  • Near-class-leading range for the price, especially the Pro LR (up to ~60 km), which reviewers called near-unbeatable value.
  • Premium build quality and finish, with a generous wide footboard that accommodates multiple riding stances.
  • High-street retail and service support (Halfords, Currys, Argos) — easy to buy, return and get serviced, unlike import-only rivals.
Weaknesses
  • Heavy and awkward to carry — 16.5–17.5 kg makes it tiring to lift up stairs or onto public transport when folded.
  • No suspension and a rigid fork — rougher surfaces are felt through the deck despite the air tyres.
  • Thumb throttle lacks tactile feedback and there is no cruise control, making long flat rides less comfortable.
  • Fixed (non-adjustable) handlebar height does not suit all riders.
  • Single front-wheel motor with modest hill performance (~15% max) — struggles with steep inclines and the long charge times (5.5–9.5 h) are inconvenient.

Who it’s for

Urban commuter with a 10–25 km daily round trip who wants the largest credible battery on the UK high street under €750 and values being able to walk into Halfords or Currys for service support.
