Scart
Origin
Radon is the house bike brand of Bike-Discount (H&S Bike-Discount GmbH), the large German direct-to-consumer retailer based in Bonn. Founded in the 1990s, Radon built its reputation on the direct-sale model made popular by German mail-order bike brands: cut out the dealer margin and spec a bike with components a level or two above what the price would normally buy. The Scart line sits in Radon's trekking/cross catalogue as a flat-bar fitness-cross bike - a hydroformed aluminium frame designed, in Radon's own words, to perform in rougher terrain as well as it does on the road, with an upright, touring-friendly geometry. Around 2019-2020 Radon split the range: the original 'Scart' (6.0/7.0) kept the more substantial SR Suntour NCX suspension fork and a slightly more rugged remit, while the lighter 'Scart Light' (8.0/9.0/10.0) trimmed weight and leaned toward fast commuting and gravel-path riding, topping out with RockShox air forks, DT Swiss wheels and Shimano XT. It has never been an e-bike - it is a purely mechanical urban/cross all-rounder.

The verdict
- Strong value - Shimano Deore-to-XT drivetrains and hydraulic discs for direct-sale money
- Versatile: comfortable upright geometry that handles commuting, gravel paths and light off-road
- Lighter trims (9.0/10.0) are genuinely light for a suspension-forked fitness bike (~11-11.75kg)
- Direct-sale only - no local dealer, so setup, warranty and service fall on the buyer (a real factor in the Baltics)
- The budget coil suspension fork (Suntour NEX on the 8.0) adds weight and does little on smooth roads
- Radon's quality control and customer service get mixed reviews; some units need post-delivery adjustment
Generations
Scart (6.0/7.0)
- Original cross-oriented line (~2018-2019+): heavier SR Suntour fork, slightly more rugged remit, lower price.
Scart Light (8.0/9.0/10.0)
- Lighter fitness/urban line (~2020-2024): air fork and DT Swiss wheels at the top, ~11kg, faster-rolling.
