Origin
2020. The Addict Gravel was Scott's formal entry into the gravel category — applying the Addict's carbon expertise and lightweight philosophy to drop-bar off-road riding. It sits between the Addict RC (pure road) and the Speedster Gravel (endurance) on the Scott road/gravel spectrum.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Most responsive bike in 2025 Gran Fondo race gravel comparison test — 'absolute joy on tight, twisty sections'
- 45mm tyre clearance is generous for a race-oriented gravel platform
- Full Syncros iC SL X integration is clean, functional, and reduces aero drag
- UDH on all models — easy derailleur replacement in the field
- Short 425mm chainstays give explosive acceleration and agile handling
- Multiple adventure mounts (top tube, extra downtube, two bottle positions) are practical
- Fender mount system built-in — commuter-capable
- Off.road.cc: 'Light, nimble, absolute blast to ride' (Gravel 10)
−Weaknesses
- 42cm/49cm flared cockpit on RC is 'too wide for optimal aerodynamics' in racing context (Gran Fondo test criticism)
- RC at 7.86kg is not lightweight by pure road standards — gravel penalty is real
- Schwalbe G-One Bite 45mm tyres 'not the most robust' — puncture-prone in aggressive use
- 120kg system weight limit and 24/24 spoke build: don't overload for bikepacking
- Aggressive stack-to-reach (1.48) demands experienced, flexible riders — not for endurance/comfort seekers
- Fulcrum Sharq wheels on RC are aesthetically distinctive but 'behind fastest setups' in aero terms vs competitors
- RC model launched 2021 — no Gen 3 update yet as of 2025. Competitors have refreshed more recently.
