Allez Sprint
Origin
The Allez Sprint is Specialized's argument that aluminum still has a place at the top of the road race food chain. The current generation, launched in 2022, brought the Tarmac SL7's silhouette to a hydroformed alloy frame via Specialized's D'Aluisio Smartweld manufacturing process — joints engineered like welded carbon, with material moved away from the heat-affected zone for stiffness and ride quality the brand claims is indistinguishable from carbon under power. It was Specialized's pointed answer to the death of the affordable race bike: an under-€2000 entry into the same geometry, tube shapes, and racing pedigree as the carbon Tarmac, marketed at crit racers, fixed-gear converts, and riders who beat their bikes up. The Allez name itself goes back to 1981 — one of Specialized's first road models — making this the longest-running road race nameplate in their catalog.
