Origin

Minimotors was founded in 1999 in Busan, South Korea, and launched its Speedway brand of electric scooters around 2014 — machines that effectively defined the modern 'entry-level' e-scooter category before the same company went on to create the first dual-motor scooter, the Dualtron, in 2015. The Speedway Mini line is the small, city-friendly end of that family: light, foldable single-motor scooters aimed at commuters rather than speed freaks. The Mini 4 Pro (also styled 'Mini IV Pro') arrived around 2019 as the refined, higher-battery evolution of the Mini 4, keeping the sub-16 kg weight and 8-inch wheels while offering larger 48V packs with brand-name Panasonic/LG cells. It has stayed in production for years with only minor revisions, which is why it is one of the most cloned scooters in its class.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Very light (~16 kg) and folds compact — genuinely easy to carry and store
  • Dual spring suspension + pneumatic front tire give a smooth ride for the size/price
  • Dependable build and good battery longevity; brand-name Panasonic/LG cells on Pro packs
Weaknesses
  • Single 500W-nominal motor and drum brake — modest hill power and braking bite, no disc
  • Throttle response can feel sharp/abrupt, especially in the higher speed mode
  • Only splash-level water resistance (IP54); solid rear tire trades comfort for puncture-proofing
