Origin

The Yucatan has been Winora's primary e-trekking line since 2012, evolving with each generation of Yamaha mid-drive technology. The X10 generation brought a 27.5" wheel platform and the Modular Rail System, positioning the Yucatan as a go-anywhere touring companion with practical accessory integration.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Yamaha PW-S2 motor delivers natural, quiet assistance ideal for multi-day touring
  • Modular Rail System provides tool-free accessory mounting absent on most rivals
  • 27.5" wheel + wide-volume Continental Contact Cruiser tyre absorbs mixed-surface vibration effectively
Weaknesses
  • 720 Wh battery is large but not the largest in class; range extender needed for extreme touring
  • 10-speed microSHIFT drivetrain is capable but less premium-feeling than Shimano Deore at similar price points
  • Weight undisclosed by manufacturer; comparable e-trekking bikes typically weigh 23–26 kg
