Mi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra

e-scooter9001100 EUR
01

Origin

Xiaomi announced Series 4 in late 2022 with four tiers (Lite / base / Pro / Ultra). The Ultra was positioned from day one as the no-compromise consumer flagship — Xiaomi's direct positional answer to Segway-Ninebot's KickScooter Max G2. The two scooters are factory-siblings: both built by Ninebot under contract, both targeting the €900-1100 'serious commuter' segment, both launching in EU markets within months of each other in 2023. The 4 Ultra exists because the 4 Pro, while massively successful, ceded the premium segment to Segway — Xiaomi needed an answer at the top.

  • Dual suspension transforms ride quality vs rigid 4 Pro — usable on cobblestone and gravel
  • Hydraulic rear disc — shorter, more consistent stopping
  • 940 Wh battery — genuine full-week commute range

  • Self-repairing tubeless tires near-eliminate pothole flats
Weaknesses
  • 24 kg — heaviest in Xiaomi line, hard for apartment-dwellers

  • No built-in turn signals on EU SKU
  • Internal non-removable battery — no quick swap
  • €300-500 premium over 4 Pro

Buyer’s notes

01
Claimed 70 km range is more honest than most consumer scooters — realistically expect 50 km in moderate conditions, 35-40 km in cold. The Ultra is the closest sub-€1100 scooter to its marketing number.
02
Before purchase verify: does the specific SKU include fingerprint unlock? EU batches vary — ask the retailer explicitly.
03
24 kg is serious weight. If you live on the 3rd+ floor without elevator — think twice, or plan to buy a folding hand-cart (€30-50) at the same time. Many Baltic owners store the Ultra in a ground-floor bike room.
04
Battery is NOT removable. If you need a spare battery for long rides — look at the Segway Max G2 (offers an accessory secondary battery).
05
IP55 — rain and dust OK, but NOT submersion. Don't ride through deep puddles, don't pressure-wash. The battery compartment gasket is Xiaomi's #1 engineering fix vs the 4 Pro — don't damage it.
06
Top of the theft chart for premium scooters in Tallinn / Riga / Vilnius. Minimum security: U-lock through the wheel + Apple AirTag in the frame. Never leave a €1000 scooter on the street overnight.
07
Winter below -5°C drops battery capacity 25-40% (better than 4 Pro thanks to 21700 cells, but still drops). Real winter range 30-40 km. Many Baltic owners store for winter.
08
Used 4 Ultra 2023 at €650-800 — excellent option if you verify: (1) hydraulics feel (squeeze brake — no sponge), (2) tire sealant condition, (3) battery cycles via Xiaomi Home app, (4) rear elastomer condition.
09
Hydraulic brake needs bleeding every 2 years — €20-30 at a scooter shop. Don't panic if you feel sponge at 18-24 months, that's normal.
10
Compare against Segway Max G2 (€999-1099) — essentially same factory, similar spec, €100-150 difference and app preference. At equal price pick by app preference.
11
CFW (custom firmware) unlocks ~35 km/h — but this is illegal on EU public roads and voids warranty. Not recommended.
12
Alternatives at similar price: Segway Max G2 (€999), Pure Advance (€1099), Okai Neon Pro (€899). Xiaomi wins on spec/price/Baltic service availability balance.
