Origin
The 4 Pro series marked a shift for Xiaomi. By switching to 10-inch self-sealing tubeless tires, they finally fixed the notorious puncture issues of the 8.5-inch models. The 2nd Gen model moved to a carbon steel frame and a massive 1000W peak motor, but gained significant weight (19kg), moving it away from 'ultra-portable' territory. Gen 1 (2022-2023): Moved to 10-inch self-sealing tires, larger deck, 700W peak motor. Gen 2 (2024-present): 2nd Gen: Built-in turn indicators, 1000W peak motor, front drum brake instead of E-ABS, increased range.

The verdict
+Strengths
- 10" self-sealing tubeless tires effectively end the puncture problems that plagued the 8.5" Xiaomi models
- Strong, sporty acceleration and confident hill-climbing (handles ~20% gradients better than most rivals)
- Solid aluminum build with good fit and finish and a stable, planted ride feel
- Real-world range of ~40-45 km is genuinely useful for daily commuting, even if below the 55 km claim
- Road-legal/type-approved in markets like Germany and Austria, with Xiaomi Home app integration
−Weaknesses
- Cruise control is unreliable — reviewers report it frequently refuses to engage
- Manufacturer range claim (55 km) is optimistic; testing yields closer to 42 km
- Brake lever is over-sensitive with little travel between light and hard braking, hurting modulation
- No suspension — comfort depends entirely on the tires, so rough surfaces are felt
- At 17.4 kg (Gen 1) / 19 kg (Gen 2) it is heavy to carry up stairs or onto crowded transit
