Origin

The Lynx Race is BH's XC race weapon, developed directly with the BH Coloma WorldCup team in the Spanish Basque Country. Its Split Pivot suspension — already proven in previous generations — was redesigned in 2024 with oversized main-pivot bearings to stiffen the rear triangle by 35%, giving the WorldCup riders more precise handling at high speed without sacrificing the suspension sensitivity that makes it competitive on technical courses.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Split Pivot rear suspension decouples braking from travel — precise even under heavy braking
  • HCIM carbon construction delivers exceptional stiffness-to-weight in a race-proven platform
  • Wide build range from entry SLX to top-spec XTR Di2 means accessible entry point
Weaknesses
  • Race geometry is demanding — not comfortable for casual or endurance XC riders
  • PF92 bottom bracket can develop creaking without careful installation and maintenance
  • Short chainstays (430 mm) limit straight-line stability at speed on rough terrain
