CrescentElise
e-city
01
Origin
The Elise represents the early phase of Crescent's EGOING e-bike program, launched as the brand transitioned from sourced motors to its own proprietary center-drive system developed at the Varberg factory. Early models used a carrier-mounted or semi-integrated 36V battery; later revisions became the Elis and eventually the Elda. It marks Crescent's shift from imported e-bike components to a fully controlled Nordic system.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Lighter than most center-motor e-bikes at 20.4 kg — easier to handle in urban environments
- Center motor delivers natural, balanced riding feel with good hill-climbing ability
- Reliable EGOING system backed by Crescent's Varberg factory and Swedish service network
−Weaknesses
- 36V / ~418 Wh battery capacity is modest by modern standards — 40–70 km range is limited for longer commutes
- Older generation: superseded by Elda/Elis with Shimano STEPS and larger batteries
- Carrier/semi-integrated battery less weather-sealed than fully integrated designs of later models
