Origin
The Litening is Cube's race bike — a UCI-legal aero machine that started with aluminium roots before the current C:68X carbon generation arrived. The Aero variant went through extensive CFD simulation and real wind tunnel time, emerging with a claimed 30% drag reduction compared to a standard round-tube frame. The Air variant sacrifices some aero shaping in exchange for a 799 g frame weight, making it the better climber. Both run Cube's highest-grade C:68X carbon across the same geometry.

The verdict
+Strengths
- C:68X carbon frame is exceptionally light and stiff for the price
- Wind-tunnel-validated aero design with a meaningful drag reduction
- Top builds with Dura-Ace Di2 or SRAM Red AXS are genuinely race-ready
−Weaknesses
- Premium pricing — a step above Cube's Agree and well above entry road bikes
- Aero optimisation limits tyre clearance compared to endurance builds
- Highly stiff frame can feel harsh on rough or cobbled roads
