Origin

The Koga F3 launched around 2012 as the brand city-meets-touring line, sitting below the expedition-grade WorldTraveller. Its name is shorthand for Form, Function, and Fun. The F3 range spans basic urban commuters (2.0) through belt-drive hub-gear all-rounders (8.0), all sharing fully integrated lighting and a Feathershock suspension fork.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Fully integrated lighting with hub dynamo - always ready, nothing to charge
  • Wide build range from simple city bike to belt-drive tourer under one model family
  • Premium finish and Feathershock fork give a noticeably smoother city ride than budget competitors
Weaknesses
  • At 16-17 kg even on mid-range builds, heavier than performance-focused city bikes
  • F3 5.0 and above are priced as premium Dutch bikes - significant cost vs entry level
  • Hub gears on lower trims (Nexus/Alfine) require hub service over time
