Origin
2009. The Aspect was Scott's answer to the growing demand for accessible trail MTBs. While the Scale and Spark catered to racers, the Aspect targeted new riders and budget-conscious cyclists who wanted Scott quality without race-bike pricing. It has remained Scott's entry MTB pillar for 15+ years.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Aspect 910/920: genuine off-road capability at €999 — air/hydraulic-lockout fork, hydraulic disc, good drivetrain
- Aspect 920's 2×11 drivetrain provides broader gear range than 1×12 on 910 — better for true beginners on mixed terrain
- Consistent 29" platform across range — same wheel size from 970 to 910 simplifies upgrade path
- Internal cable routing from Aspect 950 upward — better cable protection and appearance vs external routing below
- Aspect eRIDE 900 with Bosch CX + 750Wh is a capable eMTB hardtail — strong motor, great range
- Widely available across European dealers including Baltic region
- Popular hire fleet choice — validates durability and ease of maintenance
−Weaknesses
- Aspect 960/970: coil forks are pogo sticks — non-adjustable, heavy, poor performance on singletrack. Not recommended for serious trail use.
- Aspect 960 and below: external cable routing on some variants — less durable, less aesthetic
- Aspect eRIDE 940/950: Bosch Active Line (50–65 Nm vs CX's 85 Nm) and 500Wh battery limits eMTB performance; heavy coil fork adds further compromise
- No dropper post on any variant — riders moving to trail use will want to add one
- Geometry is comfort-oriented (longer CS, shorter reach) — riders who progress will quickly want the more aggressive Scale geometry
- Community consensus: don't spend below ~€950 on the Aspect for actual singletrack use; below that is 'lookalike MTB' territory
