Origin

VSETT was created in 2019 by the network of Zero and Falcon PEV dealers and engineers who helped pioneer the 'super-scooter' category. After the first-generation Zero scooters, dealers from Europe, Asia and the USA met at the Zero factory in June 2019 to design a new, refined generation aimed at fixing the weaknesses of the originals. That line was meant to launch as a new Zero series, but because Zero Motorcycles claimed the name, the scooters were rebranded VSETT (VSETT Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd, established 2018, headquartered in Ningbo, China). The VSETT 8 sits at the bottom of the numbered range (8 / 9 / 10 / 11), designed as the affordable, genuinely portable commuter that still carries the range's engineering DNA.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Strong value: solid speed and range for the price, especially on the larger battery trims
  • Genuinely portable and quick to fold thanks to the retractable stem and folding handlebars (~20 kg)
  • Well built for its class — 6082-T6 aluminium frame, adjustable dual suspension, NFC key-card lock
Weaknesses
  • Drum brakes + solid rear tire give softer braking and less shock absorption than disc-brake / pneumatic rivals
  • Slow charging: 11+ hours from the single stock 2A charger (halved with an optional second charger)
  • Weak stock lighting and small deck — not ideal for night riding or taller riders on long trips

Generations

  1. VSETT 8 (single motor)

    • Entry commuter; lighter, cheaper, front tire absorbs bumps better.
  2. VSETT 8+ (dual motor)

    • Adds front motor for hill power and quicker acceleration; both tires solid = maintenance-free but harsher ride, slightly heavier.
