Air
Origin
Designed in Montreal, Canada by Apollo Scooters and refined annually since the 2020 launch, the Apollo Air is the brand's lightest commuter scooter and serves as the entry point into the Apollo line. The 2024 model received a significant upgrade with Samsung 21700 cells (jumping from 374 Wh in earlier generations to 540 Wh), an upgraded 500W motor, and IP66 water resistance — putting it in a different class than budget Xiaomi-tier alternatives. Apollo positions the Air as a premium entry scooter for daily commuters who want build quality, drum braking, and pneumatic tires without paying for dual-motor performance. Manufactured in Asia, assembled and quality-controlled by Apollo. The unit lacks a Pure-style folding stem mechanism but trades that for a more durable mast.

The verdict
- Motorcycle-style spring front suspension delivers a smooth ride uncommon at this price point
- Lightweight (~18.8 kg) and foldable, easy to carry up stairs or into transit
- Samsung 540 Wh battery with 21700 cells — strong energy density and reliability
- 10-inch tubeless self-sealing pneumatic tires reduce flats and improve comfort
- IP66 water resistance and UL2272 certification rival scooters costing twice as much
- Manufacturer range claim (34 mi) significantly exceeds real-world testing (~22.4 mi)
- Single 500W motor limits hill-climbing power and acceleration on inclines
- 2024 braking distance increased to ~13.7 ft (worse than the 10.4 ft of the 2022 model)
- Rigid rear end transmits bumps despite the front suspension
- Not suited to heavier riders (~100 kg max load) or anyone wanting offroad/dual-motor performance
