Arroyo C7

e-city
01

Origin

The Arroyo is Gazelle's most accessible premium e-city bike — the entry point into the brand's Dutch-engineered electric range. Built in Dieren since the mid-2010s, it pairs Bosch's reliable Active Line Plus motor with a practical 7-speed Shimano Nexus hub that requires almost no maintenance. The deep-step-thru frame geometry makes it especially popular with commuters who ride in work clothes.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Deep step-thru frame and suspension fork make it comfortable for riders of all ages and flexibility levels
  • Nexus 7 IGH means no cable stretch, no derailleur adjustments — service interval is every 3,000 km or once a year
  • Full accessory kit (lights, rack, lock, fenders) ships standard — nothing to add for daily commuting
Weaknesses
  • Heavy at 62 lbs / 28 kg — one of the heavier e-city bikes in its price range
  • 482 Wh battery gives moderate range; the C8/C380 variants offer more battery for longer commutes
  • Purion display is basic — no colour, no navigation, no Bluetooth app connectivity
