Origin

The Zero family of scooters emerged in the late 2010s from Chinese ODM manufacturing (widely attributed to Titan/Unicool factories) and was popularized in Western markets by resellers such as Falcon PEV in Singapore. The Zero 10X launched around 2018 as the flagship 'big brother' of the single-motor Zero 10, adding a second hub motor to create an accessible, mid-priced dual-motor machine at a time when true off-road scooters were rare and expensive. Rather than a single fixed product, the 10X evolved as a platform: over successive years it shipped in 52V and 60V forms with growing battery capacity and a shift from cable to hydraulic brakes. Its combination of 10-inch pneumatic tires, plush dual suspension and a huge, easily-modified parts ecosystem made it one of the best-selling enthusiast scooters of its era and a common gateway into the performance-scooter community.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Strong dual-motor acceleration and genuine hill-climbing power for the price
  • Excellent ride comfort from 10-inch pneumatic tires plus plush dual spring-hydraulic suspension
  • Huge aftermarket and community — parts, batteries and upgrades are easy to find
Weaknesses
  • Stem does not lock when folded and the stock clamp develops wobble — a known, nagging flaw
  • Heavy (~33-35 kg) and bulky — awkward to carry or lift into a car
  • Low-mounted stock lights are weak for night riding; no official IP/water rating
