ZERO is a Singapore-based electric-scooter marque launched around 2017-2018 by a team of personal-electric-vehicle (PEV) veterans connected to Falcon PEV, a Singapore dealer trading since 2013. Rather than designing scooters from a blank sheet, the ZERO founders assembled models from the features they and their long-standing customers most often asked for, working with Chinese OEM factories to build a full ladder of scooters priced for the mass market. The Zero 8 sits at the bottom of that ladder as the accessible entry point, below the Zero 9, Zero 10, Zero 10X and the range-topping Zero 11X. It arrived at the moment the 8-10 inch commuter scooter category was exploding worldwide, and its formula - a punchy 500W motor, a genuine spring-suspended chassis and a sub-18 kg folding frame at a budget price - made it a recurring recommendation in beginner and mid-range commuter round-ups.
