E2 Plus

The E2 Plus is part of Segway-Ninebot's E-series, the deliberately affordable entry tier that sits below the flagship Max and F-series scooters. Segway-Ninebot itself is the product of a landmark 2015 acquisition: Ninebot, a Beijing start-up, bought the American self-balancing-transporter pioneer Segway with backing from Xiaomi and Sequoia, then folded Segway's brand and patents into its own hardware line. The combined company went on to become the best-selling electric-scooter maker in the world, and the E-series is its play for the first-time and teen/young-commuter buyer: cheap, light, foldable, and nearly maintenance-free. The E2 Plus launched around 2022-2023 as the mid-rung of that family (above the plain E2, below the E2 Pro), and in 2024 Segway refreshed it as the E2 Plus II with genuine front suspension and, on European units, turn signals.
