F30
Origin
Segway-Ninebot introduced the F-series in 2021 as the successor to its hugely popular ES line, moving from small solid/honeycomb wheels to full 10-inch pneumatic tyres for a smoother, more forgiving ride. The F30 sits in the middle of the trio — the F25, F30 and F40 share the same chassis and 300W-class hub motor, differing mainly in battery size and top speed. Ninebot, the Beijing scooter maker that acquired the original Segway brand in 2015, designed the F-series to be a mass-market, retail-shelf commuter: cheap to buy, self-healing anti-puncture tyres, a one-second fold and a companion app, all aimed at first-time buyers rather than enthusiasts. In Europe the scooter ships as the F30E, factory-limited to the 25 km/h legal cap and given a larger 367Wh battery, and it became one of the most widely stocked entry scooters across EU electronics and mobility retailers.

The verdict
- Strong value — pneumatic tyres, app and dual brakes at a budget price
- Comfortable, planted ride from the 10-inch anti-puncture tyres
- Easy, fast one-second fold and light enough (~15-16 kg) to carry
- Modest range (~18-25 km real) and 25 km/h cap — not for long or fast commutes
- No suspension; rough cobbles and potholes still transmit through the deck
- Build quality and brake bite trail more expensive scooters; only IPX5 so avoid heavy rain
Generations
EU F30E
- Larger battery, speed-capped for EU roads — the version sold in the Baltics.
US/global F30 & F30S
- Smaller battery; F30S adds a phone mount. Grey-import risk in the EU.
